I’ve had over thirty years experience designing and developing multimedia content for all sorts of platforms, delivery methods and clients. I’ve made hundreds of CDROMs with Director, countless interactive applications with Flash and have spent much of the 21st century making websites with HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, MySQL &c. These days I mostly do video-based animation, music composition and sound design.
I’m a dab-hand with Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Audition, can handle a camera, know a thing or two about video formats and am fluent in sound recording, sound effects and music (composition, recording and editing). Oh, and I can also do the odd voiceover too, if required - ask me about my Hugh Laurie impression. Actually, don't, The Wife says it doesn't sound anything like him.
In my spare time I like to ponder the nature of universe and to make biscuits. Well, when I say 'make biscuits', I really mean 'help The Wife to make biscuits' by doing the initial testing of the final baked versions (some people just call that 'eating biscuits') and doing the washing up of the befouled implements.
I am also a serial parenthesiser (no, really) and my penchant for parenthesis is second only to my desire to hyphenate - I just can't-help-it.
Channel 2020 Ltd did a lot of work for Ofsted and this is one of the many micro-sites I designed for them - a portal for parents to give their views about schools their children attend.
My role on this project was graphic design and also construction of a fully-styled prototype HTML version of the site to fine-tune the user experience. The final build was handled by a different development agency.
I did a lot of site design work for Ofsted (with Channel 2020) including the main site, but this has now been subsumed into the main gov.uk site and so all my work is lost!
Luckily, they seem to have ignored the Parent View collection of microsites, so you can still see them more-or-less as intended. Get clicky on the link below...
I've also included a gallery of some of the designs for the sites that are no-longer available.
